St. Patty's Day

This year, I spent St. Patrick's Day at The Oro Valley Festival of the Arts at the Oro Valley Marketplace. The event was very well attended in spite of the crazy winds! I don't know if I spent more time interacting with the kids or keeping my table from blowing away!

I am very excited to unveil my new St. Patty's Day costume! Making new costumes is so much fun for me, and I love the reaction that I get when I am out and about... I am such a ham!

The kids were definitely in the spirit of the holiday! I had lots of requests for four-leafed clovers and rainbows and pots of gold. And some kids asked for some "Irish" versions of my classics.

It was a fun filled day of Music, Arts, and Entertainment... a lovely way to spend an "Almost Spring" Saturday in Tucson.

Tucson Festival of Books

I had a wonderful time at the Tucson Festival of Books, yesterday. I volunteered at the Literacy Connects Booth for the second year in a row and had even more fun this year! Here are a few pics that I snapped.

Emma's Fairy Party

This party introduced a new character to my collection - Queen of the Fairies. It was so much fun to put the costume together and the kids loved all of the glitter and flowers!

The Fairy face painting has been some of my favorite work so far. By pulling the colors from the wings and halos, i was able to really pull the kid's costumes together.

All in all, we had a wonderful time at Emma's 1st Birthday Party! (I am in the back holding the Birthday Girl)

Face Painting the South Park Kids

When I was out at the Sahuarita Pecan Festival I had a great group of volunteers helping out for the day and during a lull, they asked for the South Park Kids. I think I might have had more fun than they did!

Tucson Heart Walk

I was honored to be a part of the 2011 Tucson Heart Walk! The American Heart Association works diligently to promote prevention and awareness of heart disease and stroke and the Heart Walk is a fun way toget the whole family involved. It was a beautiful Spring day and PERFECT for a 5k walk through Reid Park. Find a Heart Walk near you!

One of the best parts of my job is the reaction that I get when in costume. I cannot even tell you how many times people ask to have their faces painted like mine - what a wonderful compliment! This year's Heart Walk was no exception. Thankfully, I was prepared and every time someone asked to be painted to look like me, I had them pose for a photo. Here are some of my faves...

I also had fun with some of the vendors! The folks at the Ina & Thornydale Starbucks were in the booth next to mine and being that Starbucks is high on my list of favorite things, I could not passup an opportunity to show my love. Here is a pic of me and two of the Barristas and the coffee cups that I painted for them :)

I had such a wonderful time at the Heart Walk and hope that I have the opportunity to do it again!
